2010 Club Beach Tour

The 2010 Club Beach Tour is going to be huge! The 2010 Club Beach Tour will continue to feature competition between players representing a club program. This year all events will be held in the Southern California area. Players must register with a club and play under a club's banner.  We are asking that clubs provide matching uniforms this year.  There is some leeway with the uniform specifications as long as players are wearing matching unis that identify the player's club and player's last name.  Things to expect this season:

-$25 entry fee
-Earlier season start and earlier season finish (first event will be held during the long lapse between regional’s and Festival/Soiree/Junior Nationals.
-Running points total that will list the top players per age division and top overall clubs on the homepage.
-Easy online player registration option for clubs that do not want to have to do any paperwork.
-Exciting Locations and Tour Stops.
-High Performance Beach Program and Camps.

Look forward to seeing you out on the beach next summer.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. -Matt

CIF Rules

CIF Rules for Southern Section and San Diego Section recognize 2 vs 2 beach volleyball as a separate sport from 6 vs 6 indoor volleyball.  As a result 2 vs 2 beach volleyball is not restricted during high school 6 vs 6 indoor season.  Read excerpt from CIF hand book below or download the complete CIF Blue Book.

"ARTICLE 60
OUTSIDE COMPETITION
600.  COMPETITION ON AN OUTSIDE TEAM
A student on a high school team becomes ineligible if the student competes in a contest on an “outside” team, in the same sport, during the student’s high school season of sport. (Refer to bylaw 511) The following exceptions apply:
A. If the outside team has half or more of the team members as stated in the National Federation rulebook for that sport,
it shall be considered the same sport. Examples: three on three basketball — outside team competition prohibited;
two on two volleyball — outside team competition permitted."
